It’s been about six years since Vallejo actor Lamont Young left for the yellow brick road of Hollywood. He may not have found his theatrical Oz yet, but Young did find a wife.

And he didn’t have to click his heels.

Actually, acting was a mere side project when Young secured a scholarship at Azusa Pacific University, eventually earning a master’s degree in psychology.

“I didn’t really get away from acting … it shifted,” Young said by phone.

He kept acting, created a couple of businesses and now wants to “find a way to use these resources in Vallejo.”

Yes, he often thinks of V-Town, missing the community the most, he said, with a return Nov. 17 on stage in Berkeley Rep’s “Blue Eye Shadow.”
