Just when Gordon Hayward appeared to be back in top form for the Boston Celtics, injury struck again.
Hayward against the San Antonio Spurs late in the first half and was diagnosed with a left hand fracture. With about 90 seconds left in the second quarter, Hayward was guarding Dejounte Murray on the left wing when Murray drove baseline around a screen by LaMarcus Aldridge. Hayward collided with Aldridge, who was whistled for a foul on the play, and came away clutching his hand.
Hayward headed to the locker room, where he underwent X-rays that confirmed the fracture, the Celtics . The team had no further details on the injury. According to ESPN, he’ll see a specialist on Monday to determine if surgery is necessary.
