The Miami Heat suspended guard Dion Waiters 10 games without pay for conduct detrimental to the team, the Heat announced in a statement Sunday.

Waiters on Thursday , a person familiar with details told USA TODAY Sports. The person requested anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the situation.

THC is an active ingredient in marijuana, which is on the NBA’s banned substance list.
