The Utah Department Health’s latest COVID-19 counts show there are 806 confirmed cases in Utah.
Of the 16,003 COVID-19 tests administered in Utah, about five percent of returned as positive.
Utah has an eight percent hospitalization rate for COVID-19 patients.
“Even though that rate is small compared our other states, if we continue to increase at that rate, we will overwhelm our healthcare systems in the coming weeks,” said Dr. Angela Dunn, Utah State Epidemiologist, during a news conference Monday afternoon.
Dunn added that Utah’s social distancing measures are working.
“Ten percent of our cases are community-spread. That means only 10 percent of the people who have COVID-19 don’t have a clear source of exposure,” Dunn said.
